is it true that..the lapd is not going to pay the million dollar reward on Mr dorner?

the reason being he was killed and not captured, but someone told them where he was. can the police lie like that??

Report as

I heard that they were trying to weasel out of it ! The LAPD has such a bad record that it wouldn't surprise me at all . They didn't want him alive ! Like sheldon said : I would talk to a lawyer ! If they told them where he was , then I think they deserve the reward !

when it happened again no one will believe the cops and NOT turn a suspect in
Report as
Good point ! Why offer a reward and then find excuse for not paying it ?
Report as
Why you ask?
Because its the LAPD
As you stated, wouldn't surprise me at all.

Yup!!
Report as
they are saying because he wasn't captured alive the reward us voided, who DIDN'T know he would get killed
Report as
I completely agree. (Try Jake Watson a very good lawyer. was on the defense team for the Uni-bomer)
Report as
Crow - I agree-
However , most rewards say
" any information leading to the arrest
And conviction "
Most" not all"
Some say
" any information leading to the whereabouts "
I guess it would really depend on how
Specifically it was worded .
Report as
So what I'm getting out of this is that it's in the LAPD's best interests to instruct their officers to shoot to kill rather than apprehend the suspect so they can renege on the reward money. That sounds ethical.

Normally they say "blah blah reward for any information leading to the arrest or capture of so and so"...so i think they have to honor that!!
Dorner was a hero ...dirty cops set him off!!

you have a point
Report as
heros DO NOT kill innocent people!!!!!
Report as
MnMs4me, good point. totally true at that...
Report as
Dorner most certainly was NOT a hero. Your idea of "hero" is completely inappropriate. Yes there are dirty cops and yes he supposedly tried to expose them. However, that was completely over shadowed by his murdering 5 innocent people and putting countless others in danger for the duration of the manhunt.
Did you read his manifesto? I did. He clearly knew what was right and what was wrong. He tried to set himself up as a martyr. Did not work.

Here is a link to the manifesto:
http://youranonnews.tumblr.com/post/42506354980/heres-an-uncensored-copy-of-the-rogue-lapd-officers

Report as
the lapd is just the lesser of two evils in this case
Report as
Yeah, that "hero" shot a young girl and her fiance because he was ticked at her dad. You need to look up the definition of hero
Report as
He's only suspected of killing them...this man knew something and somebody high up wanted him dead...open your eyes ....if he was such a vicious killer he would killed that couple who caught him hiding in their cabin..whom he repeatedly told "I don't have a problem with you, I just need to clear my name!"
Report as
He loosely tied them up just to give himself time to get away, this guy was framed!
Report as
You need to stop believing e very thing the media tells you!
Report as
By the way...this country was founded by men like Dorner...Men who went against the grain for a better purpose!
Report as
he was due due process like any of us he was executed the local television stations were there and you can hear the cops yelling BURN HIM..this is not justified
Report as
Yup...Cops can be victim to "mob mentality" as well!!
Report as
He was a fricken coward, heroes don't kill innocent people... Was he framed? Possibly, but that doesn't make him a hero. Instead he will be remembered as a murderer and a coward!
Report as
There's definitely something else to this story ...something that'll prob never be exposed!!
Report as
The police did not say "burn him" they said burner, slang for tear gas (it burns your eyes and skin).
Report as
Anthony...I can see you have not bothered to read the manifesto......ignorance is bliss....
Report as
a burner is an incendiary device as well as teargas
Report as
i read the manifesto,a man that wasn't stable tried to right some wrongs and was punished for doing the right thing. land created a monster
Report as
There is no justification for what he did....period.
Report as
the point is does the lapd have the right not to pay the reward they offered
Report as
Of course they do...will they? I do not know. Has anyone ever received money from a reward offering? I do not know.

But anthony labeling him as a hero is ludicrous
Report as
LAPD didn't want another riot on their hands and that's why they make up lies to make you think he's a monster! He was gonna expose all the injustice and racism in the dept.
Report as

wow....

I'm surprised the "race card" hasn't been used yet.

All good points Dwilly
Report as
Maybe I shoulda said Revolutionary instead of hero...still something stinks!!
Report as
214. You are assuming that he did kill all these people. Maybe the proof has been published in LA but it hasn't made it to us yet. Where can I go read about the eye witnesses, fingerprints, DNA or any other proof they have. Please don't say the manifesto because I could publish one from you in about 20 min. I do not think this guy is a hero but I don't know that he was a murderer yet either.
Report as
the lapd wants this forgotten
Report as
dwilly.....You can find anything you want just by searching on line for it. I cannot make you believe anything. That is the wondrous thing about having a brain.

Crow...you are correct.

Report as
Ok people, enough is enough. Peace out!!
Report as
he killed them,i am sure of it,but the police cannot try ,convict, and execute, people.this is what happened
Report as
WOW! I bet he will be buried before these comments are.
Report as
blugoo2, probably.
Report as
214. My bad. I should have known everything on the Internet is fact. Just not as smart as I used to be.
Report as
dwilly...I did not say it is on the internet so it must be fact. You are putting words where there were none. There are just as many views that favor what you say online as well. I simply stated "You can find anything you want just by searching on line for it. I cannot make you believe anything." You are welcome to believe what ever thought you need to. :0)
Report as
I suppose next we will be told the LAPD killed that innocent woman, so they could blame it on our "HERO." Poor guy just fighting for his rights. What's this world coming to.
Report as
There are bad repercussions for killing a cop, this x cop had to have known that, he was not only a murderer, he was a fool.

Dorners plan was to not be taken alive, he said his life was over when he was fired. He is a murdering coward, he did the world a favor and the taxpayers by shooting himself.

that is true but the question is can the cops not pay the reward they promised because he wasn't captured, the person did lead them to them
Report as
oh yeah sorry lol I was on a rant.
Yes, by all means they should pay the reward they did get tips.
Report as
the people helped wether he is dead or captured, case is over.
Report as
ha,we all rant now and then
Report as
Where has it been proven that he killed that girl and her Fianc ??
Report as
i find the three id's and wallets odd too
Report as
he killed a deputy the day of the shootout and another cop to I think.
Report as
Mn. Really there is no proof he killed anyone nor wrote the manifesto. I'm not defending him but do have many questions. 3 ids found?? Back to crow question. The couple should get the reward. Just another questionable act by law enforcement that by the way I have great respect for 90% of them.
Report as
i agree they should get the reward offered, but he said he was going to kill for revenge of his termination, am I correct?
Report as
they said he dropped his wallet when he tried to steal the boat, they said they found his wallet on the Mexican border, and of course at the cabin the only thing that didn't burn was his wallet all three had his id
Report as
How convenient that the wallets didn't burn !

I think the US Army should have a "training exercise" with a Rangers/Green Berets and just stumble into him....... But that's just me. O.o
Besides Police Officers don't get paid enough as it is. Its not like they have the money.

they shouldn't promise something if the cops lie,who do you believe?

I'd get a lawyer if I was that guy. Although doing so the million dollars will be reduced to about half. Even less after taxes.

no he was turned in and they are refusing to pay the reward
Report as
The couple turned him in and deserve the reward. Is the LAPD crazy. This is making them look worse that they already do.

If the reward stated that money would be given to anyone giving information leading to his arrest.....well, he was never arrested.

Report as
the definition of arrest is to stop,it is a French word.the man was most assuredly stopped. cops love technicalities,as long as they work in their favor
Report as
Not in legal terms. I doubt he was read his Miranda Rights.
Report as
Arrest, found, discovered....who cares. It is over because of this couple calling police. If they do nit get the reward the LAPD will hurt law agencies all over America.

I think the lady who was held hostage and was able to call the police from her cell phone should get the reward, after all if I'm correct, she's the one who called 911 and alerted the police that he was hiding out right under there noses (command center) and that he just left in there car. She is the one who brought the police back into the area!!

It smells but this isn't a lottery. Citizens should do their duty regardless of a reward. And the LAPD should realize this makes them look petty.
