Oh of course. One of my favorite artists became famous through making amazing covers and posting them on YouTube. there are countless examples out there, but one of my favorites is "Only Girl in the World" by Boyce Avenue. They are covering Rihanna's song, but singing it from a guy's perspective instead. They make the song so beautiful. If you look up the lyrics to the song, Rihana actually wrote a good song, the lyrics are nice. But since the song is to a fast beat, it comes across as a dirty song like a lot of her other ones, when in fact it's a sweet song. My point is, Boyce Avenue's cover of the song exposes the song for its true beauty and meaning and that is what makes it better than the orignial. (: Look it up!
Well, yes, but it can be the opposite, too. Bruce Springsteen did an awful cover of Blinded By The Light, as performed by Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Likewise, The Beatles' cover of Got To Get You Into My Life was horrific as compared to Earth, Wind and Fire's original version.
