Long, long ago in the land beneath the Southern Cross, a healthy, virile young man was enamoured of a shy young lady. He wooed her, and he won her, and he took her to be his wife.
They did all the things husbands and wives were supposed to do in those days. He worked, she kept house, and they were both very proper and very serious. Sometimes, when they weren't too tired, they made love.
One such mating occurred on a night when the Devil had too much time on his hands and he thought to himself, "Lucifer, old son, let's take a hand in this happy occasion."
But, thankfully, an angel of the Lord learned of his plan to create a Devil of their child and he stepped in and blessed the union so that the Devil's wicked scheme was thwarted.
And that is why I was created. Alas, there are two Dodgy's -- one with horns and one with a halo -- but it's the one with the horns that has the most fun.
The short answer to the question "why did God create us?" "for His pleasure." Revelation 4:11 says, "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." Colossians 1:16 reiterates the point: "All things were created by him and for him." Being created for God's pleasure does not mean humanity was made to entertain God or provide Him with amusement. God is a creative Being, and it gives Him pleasure to create. God is a personal Being, and it gives Him pleasure to have other beings He can have a genuine relationship with.http://www.gotquestions.org/why-did-God-create-us.html
Two scriptures that come to mine are: 1) Isaiah 45:18 which says: “For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the true God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: ‘I am Jehovah, and there is no one else.’”
2) Revelation 4:11 which says: “You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created.”
We exist because its God's will. He wanted us all to live a wonderful life. He wanted to share this wonderful gift!
We were created to Worship and Glorify God for His pleasure.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
