What does it mean by these being the 7 deadly sins?

Greed, wrath, gluttony, pride, sloth, lust & envy...

Originally, a Greek theologian drew up eight. In the sixth century, Pope Gregory reduced the list to seven. It was picked up by Church hierarchy to preach against sin. They later invented tortuous punishments in hell to go along with each sin.. Most likely in an effort to keep that "sin-forgivement" money coming in.. Aka- indulgences.

These seven helped build a bigger stick, in case that heavenly carrot wasn't alluring enough.
Wow, that's twice I visited that analogy, I'll put it to pasture now.

that's some of the things that we should turn away from here is a other scripture 2 timothy 3:1-5 "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,self-assuming,haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control,fierce,without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power and from these turn away."

It's something the Catholic Church created.

There is only one unpardonable sin. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 12:31

31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
