Can i eat cheerios for a diet?

Report as

It looks like 1 cup Cheerios + 1/2 cup of skim milk is only 140 calories. This seems pretty decent to me.

1.2 g in 1 cup of cheerios. Sorry but that's not 73%. Where did you get that number from.
Report as
carbohydrates are sugar. 22g out of 30g
Report as
There's a specifc spot for sugar, which was 1.2 grams.
There are many different kinds of "carbs", and some of them are even good for you. So you still haven't told me how you figured those carbs were "bad" carbs.
Report as
Carbohyrates are sugar. Sugar is a drug. A drug is anything you put into your body that has no nutritional value or is required as food. There are highs and lows (just like drugs) and addiction to eating them (just like drugs). New studies even show that carbs tell your body that you're still hungry, leading to overeating.

I can tell you from a personal experience. I was on a "carb diet" known as The Atkin's Diet, and lost 60 pounds in one year. So like I stated above. Not all carbs are bad. And you know the wiki can be changed by anyone right?
Report as
Atkins is a LOW CARB diet - you limit carb intake to less than 100 grams per day. And the point isn't that 100grams of carbs is good for you - it ALLOWS you to cheat a meat diet by having some sugar. Any more than 100 grams and you won't stay in ketosis. Yes wiki can be changed by anyone, but they have editors to monitor changes and do their best to correct as necessary. It is an invaluable source of information which cites original works as you would with a school essay.

For instance, all fruits and vegetables have carbs. You couldn't live without carbs. Everything you eat has some form of carbs.
Report as
I ate 45 grams of carbs for every meal, and there were 3 of them, and 15 carbs for every snack. That is more than 100 carbs. And those carbs could be anything. I could have had a candy bar for my meal.
Report as
The Atkins diet involves limited consumption of carbohydrates to switch the body's metabolism from metabolizing glucose as energy over to converting stored body fat to energy. This process, called ketosis, begins when insulin levels are low; in normal humans, insulin is lowest when blood glucose levels are low (mostly before eating). Reduced insulin levels induces lipolysis which consumes fat to produce ketone bodies. On the other hand, caloric carbohydrates (for example, glucose or starch, the latter made of chains of glucose) affect the body by increasing blood sugar after consumption. (In the treatment of diabetes, blood sugar levels are used Carbohydrate Counting.)

I know what the Atkin's diet is, like I said, I did it and lost 60 pounds in one year.
Report as
Sugar is energy, and you need to exercise to burn it off, doesnt matter about the sugar unless you do nothing
Report as
Calories are energy. Everything you eat has a caloric value. There is more to diet than just counting calories.
