Is this acid reflux?

Starting today, I've been having a sudden burning feeling in my throat that's making me want to burp, or throw up. I'm wondering if its acid reflux? I know I had bad acid reflux when I was a baby if that helps. it's not nonstop and doesn't last a long time but it starts out painless then gets worse then just stops. I've been drinking water and it seems to be helping a little.

Before you go popping pills and think you are cured you need to know that heartburn is a symptom of GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) All the pills out there only reduce symptoms but don't really get to the cause of the disease. You need to really find out what is the cause by determining your disease stage and then identifying your trigger foods. Many doctors will be tempted to just give you a PPI (Proton Pump Inhibitor) but you really need to learn more about the pros and cons of those powerful drugs. There is a lot of complexity to Reflux Disease and there is a lot of "quick and easy" suggestions out there, which might work for now but you really should gain a better understanding of your disease so you don't fall into the trap of thinking you are "cured'

Sounds like it to me. Talk to your doc. Use tums or rolaids in the meantime.

It could be acid reflux, or it could be something else. As another said, try Tums or some other heartburn over the counter medicine. If it continues, please see a doctor. I have been on Acid Reflux medicine now for 8 years! (prilosec).

Gaviscon is the best. And start keeping track of foods that make you feel this way and avoid them.

Until you see a doctor. OTC meds. Stop( to the best of your ability), drinking caffeine or any product with caffeine in it. Especially avoid fizzy drinks. Lastly just before bed drink a half glass of water. Good luck.

Yes it sounds like it. My 14 year old daughter has struggled with this for about 6 months. You should see a Doctor. Stay away from what they call "trigger foods". No caffeine, chocolate, tomatoes, catsup, or spicy foods...
Goggle Natural Remedies for Acid Reflux. Good luck, I feel for ya....;)
