Sore chest please help am little worried?

i have been coughing since monday due to a sinus infection and before that i had coughing due to my asthma. well my chest per say hurts. i believe the pain is around my sternum or breastplate area and idk what it is or what to do about it. at my doctor visit on friday they never did an xray or nothing just said sinus infection and gave me meds for it. i really think i hurt myself from all the coughing that i been doing but it still worries me a bit. i just do not want something serious to be wrong. i did have a chest wall strain before but that was on the side of body not in the sternum area. i have 3 tests this week in school so i can't take time off for it at all and 2morrow is a day off for me but has to study. everytime i lay down i usually cough and can't sleep so maybe that os why i am so sore. P.S. i saw my doc on friday and they said i had a sinus infection and i got antibiotics for it but they not helping yet

so am i sore because of all the coughing i been doing and should i get an x-ray or get the pain looked at?

Do some light stretching.. get lots of fresh air.. this will pass without another Dr. visit.. that's where all the sick people go!

You are probably sore from all the coughing, but you need to at least call a doctor and get their professional opinion.

you need to listen to your body and take care of it...

Drink loads of lemon/ boilled water and relax, no need to sleep. Just sit in meditative position and sip slowly your lemon water. DO not put the the full lemon in the water, just extract the juice and let the seeds in the water as well!

Your immunue system is totaly offline at this stage!

You sound as if you have the same flu bug, sinus crud that is going around. It takes about two weeks to get done. Take some decongestant and tylenol.

If you're using cough syrup and taking Tylenol, be careful, watch the ingredients list, many cough mixtures contain the same ingredients as Tylenol. You don't want to overdose, it contributes to liver problems. I'm using an OTC cough mixture and it's like pulling teeth finding one without acetaminophen! When it's there, its usually in a high dose, 250mg or more!

You have strained the muscles in your chest area from all the coughing. There's nothing a Dr. Can do for that. Take ibuprofen ( if you aren't allergic ) and rest as much as you can. It will take a good week for you to feel any improvement there.

Your diaphragm muscles are sore from all the coughing. I'm experiencing this now. The antibiotics are helping but I'm not quite out of the woods yet. Getting there though. Feel better.
