1. Do not laugh or scold anyone for this EVER, be patient and understanding thats why we wash clothes. No big deal 2. No liquids 2 hrs before bed 3. Alarm clock at midnight for Obligatory bathroom run 4.back to sleep like nothing 5. repeat until successful (1 week)
With any gender child, it's a matter of awareness. If they've having problems, wake them up in the middle of the night before they have an accident and get them to the bathroom. You can then extend that time by a half hour the next night and so on. Soon, they'll recognize the need on their own, know to get up out of bed and do what's needed.
