I have a Yamaha 1979 with a frozen choke?

it will start cold then die because of the choke

buy a can of carb and choke cleaner. Spray it all over the intake, the linkage inside, and outside of the carb. While the engine is running, spray it inside the mouth of the carb. (But don't over spray it, as it will kill the engine. spray the whole can all over, inside and out. (BUT, don't spray it on the painted parts of the bike, it will remove paint)

If the choke on your Yamaha 1979 is frozen you can try shooting a graphite solution down the cable. If that does not work, the problem might be with the carburetor and it needs to be checked.
