Asexual vs lacking love?

Im confused. Is not falling in love with someone randomly, and not even loving your close friends and family, asexual or just lacking the emotion "love"? I mean I'm a lesbian, but I don't love anyone... not my family or even my friends. they're just people I know... of course I'd take a bullet for them but I by no means love anyone of them... asexual or lacking love?? thanks

Asexual means there is no sexual desire in a person, for any gender, not even self-gratification in most cases.
Lack of the ability to love is a psychological state where someone cannot connect with others with emotional intimacy.
Since you say you are a lesbian and you'd "take a bullet for them," I suspect you are neither. I'd say you probably aren't very demonstrative in your love. Just because you are a "squishy-gushy" person, doesn't mean you don't feel. Relax. You're fine.

Why would you not love them-and all they do for you? I'd call it heartless.

I didn't say I treated them like trash. I care for them, I do things for them, but I don't love them. And my family? They don't deserve love! They are the most judgmental people out there and hate everyone who isn't like THEM.
