How old do you have to be to start working out?

My daughter wants to get more fit and she was wondering how old you have to be to start working out.

I say about maybe 15 or 16. That's the age of when to start improving your overall body health.

You can be any age, just as long as you don't lift weights too heavy for you or exercise more than you can do. There's no age restriction on working out.

i wouldnt bench or do heavier weights or anything until like age twelve

You don't have to be a certain age too be fit. I would say more extreme workouts should wait until you are in your mid teens but any person at any age can exercise.

I'd say 16 / 17 for a male it's when your body starts to mature and you have the highest levels of testosterone

Any age, although weight lifting should start at 16 or 17. She can start now :)

My kids are 5 and 3 and work out with me and my wife...Nothing extreme of course, but they mimic the activity we do either walking, elliptical, punching bag, exercise videos, or weights....we just make sure they don't drop a weight on their toe and all is okay! It is important to get in a "fit" mindset early on so they don't have lazy bodies later in life like I did/do :)

You can start working out at pretty much any age. If you go to any athletic clubs or gyms then you at least have to 13. Well that's the age you have to be here. Maybe in some other places you can be younger or older, but yeah. 13 should be the least. ^.^

You can work out at any age. For example: a toddler is working out when it begins to walk. As he/she gets older, he/she can do jumping jacks and run. Later on, he/she can lift some weights. By that time, he/she might be 13+. In his/her adult years, he/she can do any type of exercise (swimming, flips, yoga, etc.).

There is no specific age to start it. But generally it is recommended after 15 yrs of age.
