The crusades implemented freedom of religion by giving rise to a number of things. This included enhancing the power of the Catholic Church. The crusades also brought Europe into closer contact with Asia and Africa, reestablishing inter regional trade networks.

Basically, the Christians wanted to have Jerusalem, and so did the Muslims because they played an important part in their religion
