Why don't I have cavities?

I drink pepsi a lot and have a lot of junk food (potato chips, candy, cookies, etc). But I also have a lot of fruits. I haven't gone to the dentist for several years. But I don't understand why I don't have any cavities. My mouth doesn't hurt at all, despite the unhealthy foods. Am I just lucky? Or does fruit prevent cavities? (I am also really athletic, so i'm not fat. (before you ask))

I am not fat either but I drink a lot of pop too and eat really unhealthy. I have no problems with my teeth and haven gained a single pound, I just don't think it's as bad as people put it out to be.

Unless you have been to the dentist and had x-rays, you don't know that you do not have cavities. I went after moving around I hadn't been to the dentist for a few years and when I finally got in I had 3 cavities, that didn't hurt one bit. (Well not until they started drilling to fix them.)

If they are shallow and haven't hit the nerve yet, you wouldn't feel them.

Same here. I love fruit, especially bananas. fruits while they do contain some sugar have a fast oral clearance rate due to their stimulation of saliva.
