What fish should i get in a 55 gallon fish tank?

i just opened my 55 gallon fish tank from 16 years ago. What do i have to do to be able to put fish in it? What kind of fish can i put in it? What kind of fish wouldn't get along together?

just remember to make sure you have a 100% sealed top on that tank. They can unlock locks and rip tape off the top and escape. Mine got out every night until i finally gave it away to the aquarium

First, fill the tank and let it stand
( no fish ) for 7 days)
And then it's a matter of what kind you want-
I have jellyfish -

Run the fish tank for a month with water conditioner. this running will clean up any chemicals that would hurt your fish. also have the rocks and things you want in it first for that month. get a PH strip to test the water after that month. if its ok, you can put tester fish in first. They would be the cheap fish that you wouldn't care about dying. Once they survive a week, you can put better fish in there. go to the pet store and there will be signs about the fish behavior. you can mix non-aggressive fish together fine. a placo, hatchet fish...just read the signs on there about the behavior and the water it needs to survive. some need different temps to survive. or some need small amounts of salt.

I've had a 225 gallon tank before for about ten years. had all kinds of salt water creatures from octopi, sea cucumbers, and cow fish. but all of you should not get those kinds of fish unless you know what to do. and they require 24/7 care
