Anyone that relies on TV "news" (CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc.) to provide them with information regarding politics and world events. If you want real information and too know what's going on in the world you should do your own research, this way you are not being spoon fed the propaganda that the corporate media is designed to give you.
The term was coined by Rush Limbaugh and is becoming used more and more by others as a euphemism for "politically ignorant." It is a way of explaining why so many people complain about fewer jobs and higher costs (food, gas, taxes, and almost everything else) and yet they vote for the people whose policies cause those problems. Limbaugh is referring primarily to Democrats.
If you are at all intelligent you should be able to take in anything the media offers and filter out the commentary and accept it for what it is. Of the electronic media when your relatives that preceded you voted ,radio and movie newsreels were all they had. They also had newspapers and magazines as we do. I don't think that we are worse off or low information voters because we now have "talk radio" or television. We have the opportunity now to be better informed than our predecessors could have been. As always we need to use our brains before voting.
