How do i know god is real?

Report as

You don't. It's about believing and blind faith.

Blind faith? You must believe in anything then.
Report as
No, I'm an atheist.
Report as
An atheist blindly wondering on.
Report as
Okay. whatever. if that's how you want to judge me then whatever. I don't care.
Report as
I'm not judging you. You said it yourself, " It's about believing and blind faith." "I'm an atheist."
Report as
That doesn't even connect. An atheist lacks belief in a deity. That does not require blind faith or any faith at all. It requires the lack of faith, or nothing at all really. You need to go back to school.
Report as
And what school would teach that?
Report as
Oh, not the part about atheism. I mean the part about connecting things that can actually be connected. Go back to school and learn about how something that does not require faith is not a blind faith and stuff. Or something that does not have something does not mean it has that something.
Report as
Your answer was, "You don't. It's about believing and blind faith." If you're an atheist, you really have no say in this then.
Report as
Not necessarily. I know a lot of Christians and people who believe.
Report as
What does that have to do with you? Rather the Christians and people you know believe or not, you're still an atheist as you say.
Report as
xX christians blindly believe in a god that does not exist, they accept the bible as "fact" with no basis for anything. Faith is the belief in things unknown, and christians follow that by all means.

But... That's kind of just another thing that nobody knows. You don't know that. Nobody does.

Well...i believe in promises. And..there are thousands of people who have died and come back to tell. Its been very evident. Even atheists,.
Report as
No, that is not evident. There is actually science that can explain that.
Report as
Nope. People wouldnt come back completely normal and healthy. Uneffected by the lack of oxygen for several min. To several hours. They would be brain dead or severely brain injured. Even unbelieving drs change their minds after witnessing their dying pt die. Its very real. One hospice nurse said it caused her to get her butt in gear.
Report as
When? Where? What are you talking about? How does that prove we will all know one day that God exists?
Report as
Well...we all will know the truth when this life is over. :) night..peace and love
Report as
No there is still no proof of that. Studies show that people often hallucination when they have a near death experience due to a chemical being released (yes, often the same hallucination, after all it is the same chemical).
Report as
There would be no possible way someone could come back completely coherent without being brain dead or in a vegetative stage..with a prolong lack of oxygen...as i said. That is a medical/scientific fact. :) and atheists have come back and drastically changed their minds.

Delusion. You cannot and so you may "choose to believe" but we all know what that means. You don't choose to believe the sun is there and for obvious reasons. Delusion is a faithful mans best friend while reality is his defiant enemy and persistent thorn in his side. The enlightened don't pretend anything and simply live as a human on earth for that is exactly the truth as it is. We don't need to know god is real to love life, gods only bring suffering for us all.

Just look around you! Everything in nature is perfectly designed by a supreme being (God). Any field of science that you study in depth will reveal how perfectly it was designed. There is no way that a random explosion can create life, or complete chance making even a single strand of DNA.

Helpful (4) Fun Thanks for voting Comments (10)
Report as
But you contradict yourself. If God made a perfect universe, or world, or whatever, why is Humankind imperfect? Humans are a part of nature, therefore nature is imperfect. There is no proof that a supreme being created the universe.
Report as
Your misunderstanding of science and the workings of the universe is quite striking. There is precious little that is perfect in it. Please regale us with which sciences can point out some universal perfection.
Report as
You are clearly lacking understanding of biology. Chemical evolution has been proven- it can happen and most likely did happen and yes- chemical evolution will make life.
Report as
The earth was created perfect but is now full of sin because Adam and Eve sinned which was the first sin and now the universe is imperfect.
Report as
But you said that everything in nature is perfect. Why would God create humans as imperfect? If God created man in his image, wouldn't that make God imperfect? If God controls everything, doesn't he control man's will, such as in Calvinism? Wouldn't that mean that God knows from the beginning of time who is going to heaven and who to hell? Does that mean the history of mankind is just a puppetshow for God's enjoyment? Wouldn't that mean that God is imperfect?
You see, this is ridiculous. There is no logic in your reasoning.
Report as
Many people differ on the topic of predestination, you can decide what you believe and I can decide what I believe in. We will know what the truth is when we die and it will be to late for the unbelievers. I sure hope you don't spend eternity in hell. I'm praying for you.
God Bless You,

Don't want prayers- not from your god. It's more likely we will know nothing when we die because your brain ceases to function upon its death and since ghost brains don't exist either our conclusions are obvious.
Report as
Well... One perfect aspect is that the son comes up on time every day!
And Who controls that.
Who holds the tide at bay! Who holds the earth in space and holds the universe in suspension!
Report as
Actually it's that the earth is spinning and orbiting the sun while it happens to take 24 hours for the earth to rotate and face the sun again. The ocean only has so much water in it so it cannot drown all the land- though it does cover most of it. The earth is not held in space is rather orbiting the sun and with nothing else to fall to it continues to do so. I'd like to believe you don't perceive these incomplete thoughts, delusionally, as some kind of proof of anything- a brain can process logical thought to a much higher degree and I know our education system is better than the twisted perception you just dumped in front of me.
Report as
The sun doesn't "come up." The Earth is not in a fixed position. In fact, nothing in the universe is. The laws of gravity state that everything is attracted to everything else magnetically, with different force depending on mass and distance. Everything pulls on everything. The Earth orbits around the sun because it is "tied" to it magnetically, but it doesn't spiral into the sun or drift away because the other stars closest to the Earth also pull on it magnetically. This is why the Earth travels in an ellipse. The sun does not come up on time everyday. It is imperfect, and changes depending on how close the Earth is to the sun. This is why we have seasons, and daylight savings. You see? It's not perfect. Humans have evolved to fit into the Earth's system perfectly. The earth was not created for us. We have evolved to match the Earth. The tides are also due to gravity. The moon's pull affects the pressure of the ocean, causing it to rise.

It wasn't just provided for us, humanity is not that important. Geologically we are just a digit in the incomprehensibly enormous history of the Earth. We don't matter that much. Get that through your head. Soon humanity will end, and the Earth will continue.
Report as
humanjerky, we are talking about whether God is real or not. The fact that the Earth does not need us has nothing to do with it.
Report as
You didn't prove anything to me. Do you believe in the boogeyman as well?
Report as
What I'm saying is that Christianity is very anthropocentric; the Earth was created for humans, and will be destroyed when humanity is destroyed. That is untrue, the earth was created 4.54 billion years ago, and will be around for billions of years after humanity dies off. In other words, God did not create the world, nor did he create us. We created God, God is an invention.
Report as
Please humanjerky, we can't even create something that doesn't destroy the ozone layer of the Earth we live in. God isn't an invention. He invented us. We are based off of His likeness. You try making a human being and see how it woks out. lol Jooshboi, you need some religion.
Report as
Another word for religion is? Oh wait, I got it. CULT! You sound like the rest of them.
Report as
The ozone layer is completely unimportant geologically. I'm not talking decades, or centuries, i'm talking 1,000,000,000's of years. Humans simply don't matter to the world. We will be eradicated just like the dinosaurs were, in fact it'll probably be self-inflicted, by nuclear war or disease, and the Earth will move on without us. God is a human creation.
It is possible to make a human being, it's called a test-tube baby.
You need some education.
Report as
Try creating a human being from scratch humanjerky. You don't even know what to start with. How're you gonna tell me I need some education when you believe in animals that so-called died because they were frozen to death? Wouldn't their bones have been demolished after all these years?

jooshboi, you sound like the other ignorant fools who don't believe in God because He did something you didn't like it. God is real. You have no proof that He isn't.
Report as
Well obviously *I* wouldn't know how to start, but I don't have the ability to create life. No being does. The development of life began 3.6 billion years ago with simple cells and bacteria, and has evolved ever since. It's called evolution. Humans were not just zapped into existence, neither was any for of life, nor the Earth.
It's called fossilization, look it up. Like I said, education, haven't you ever taken Life Science?
You have no proof that he DOES exist. That's like saying "I will believe in the Tooth Fairy because there is no evidence that she does not exist." That is completely illogical. There is no proof that God exists. There is (almost overwhelming) evidence that he does not.
Report as
I have more proof than you. I go with "I can't see him" which makes perfect sense in my defense. You go with "he is real" so I respond with "can you show physical proof and I get the same answer from you so called believers every time. Well we can't actually show you physical proof but here is a book. The logic will never make sense. You can't win this one.
Report as
Obviously, you need education period. How did cells and bacteria get here? Who created that? And you just admitted that humans have a creator because we didn't just zap into existence. And the fossils would've been destroyed from this so-called meteorite as well if it were true. It's possible to make a home-made fossil and put it in a museum and say dinosaurs lived.
Report as
So modern science is a hoax, is that what you're saying? Sorry, Christianity is not that important. jooshboi, Because you cannot see a person with "God" on their head doesn't mean He doesn't exist. That is why He sends people such as Jesus, Prophet Muhammad, and the other prophets to us so we can see a physical form. If God doesn't exist, how the hell did we get here? How'd the universe become what it is? The Big Bang? Really? You can't win with ignorance.

"In order to explain the ideas that I and other people have had about how quantum mechanics may affect the origin
and fate of the universe, it is necessary first to understand the generally accepted history of the universe, according
to what is known as the “hot big bang model.” This assumes that the universe is described by a Friedmann model,
right back to the big bang. In such models one finds that as the universe expands, any matter or radiation in it gets
cooler. (When the universe doubles in size, its temperature falls by half.) Since temperature is simply a measure of
the average energy – or speed – of the particles, this cooling of the universe would have a major effect on the matter
in it. At very high temperatures, particles would be moving around so fast that they could escape any attraction
toward each other due to nuclear or electromagnetic forces, but as they cooled off one would expect particles that
attract each other to start to clump together. Moreover, even the types of particles that exist in the universe would
depend on the temperature. At high enough temperatures, particles have so much energy that whenever they collide
many different particle/antiparticle pairs would be produced – and although some of these particles would annihilate
on hitting antiparticles, they would be produced more rap-idly than they could annihilate. At lower temperatures,
however, when colliding particles have less energy, particle/antiparticle pairs would be produced less quickly – and
annihilation would become faster than production. (more)
Report as
"At the big bang itself the universe is thought to have had zero size, and so to have been infinitely hot. But as the
universe expanded, the temperature of the radiation decreased. One second after the big bang, it would have fallen
to about ten thousand million degrees. This is about a thousand times the temperature at the center of the sun, but
temperatures as high as this are reached in H-bomb explosions. At this time the universe would have contained
mostly photons, electrons, and neutrinos (extremely light particles that are affected only by the weak force and
gravity) and their antiparticles, together with some protons and neutrons. As the universe continued to expand and
the temperature to drop, the rate at which electron/antielectron pairs were being produced in collisions would have
fallen below the rate at which they were being destroyed by annihilation. So most of the electrons and antielectrons
would have annihilated with each other to produce more photons, leaving only a few electrons left over. The
neutrinos and antineutrinos, however, would not have annihilated with each other, because these particles interact
with themselves and with other particles only very weakly. So they should still be around today. If we could observe
them, it would provide a good test of this picture of a very hot early stage of the universe. Unfortunately, their
energies nowadays would be too low for us to observe them directly. However, if neutrinos are not massless, but
have a small mass of their own, as suggested by some recent experiments, we might be able to detect them
indirectly: they could be a form of “dark matter,” like that mentioned earlier, with sufficient gravitational attraction to
stop the expansion of the universe and cause it to collapse again. (more)
Report as
I never mentioned anything from the Bible. It's called common sense what Im using. And you still haven't proved me that God isn't real.

Let me ask you this though: Do you know my father?
Report as
"About one hundred seconds after the big bang, the temperature would have fallen to one thousand million degrees,
the temperature inside the hottest stars. At this temperature protons and neutrons would no longer have sufficient
energy to escape the attraction of the strong nuclear force, and would have started to combine together to produce
the nuclei of atoms of deuterium (heavy hydrogen), which contain one proton and one neutron. The deuterium nuclei
would then have combined with more protons and neutrons to make helium nuclei, which contain two protons and
two neutrons, and also small amounts of a couple of heavier elements, lithium and beryllium. One can calculate that
in the hot big bang model about a quarter of the protons and neutrons would have been converted into helium nuclei,
along with a small amount of heavy hydrogen and other elements. The remaining neutrons would have decayed into
protons, which are the nuclei of ordinary hydrogen atoms."
Report as
Answer the question please. One thing you have proved is that you cannot stand on your own belief. You're still referring me to something written in a book from someone who didn't even live long enough to know how the universe came about.
Report as
"There are two versions of the anthropic principle, the weak and the strong. The weak anthropic principle states that
in a universe that is large or infinite in space and/or time, the conditions necessary for the development of intelligent
life will be met only in certain regions that are limited in space and time. The intelligent beings in these regions
should therefore not be surprised if they observe that their locality in the universe satisfies the conditions that are
necessary for their existence. It is a bit like a rich person living in a wealthy neighborhood not seeing any poverty.
One example of the use of the weak anthropic principle is to “explain” why the big bang occurred about ten thousand
million years ago – it takes about that long for intelligent beings to evolve. As explained above, an early generation of
stars first had to form. These stars converted some of the original hydrogen and helium into elements like carbon and
oxygen, out of which we are made. The stars then exploded as supernovas, and their debris went to form other stars
and planets, among them those of our Solar System, which is about five thousand million years old. The first one or
two thousand million years of the earth’s existence were too hot for the development of anything complicated. The
remaining three thousand million years or so have been taken up by the slow process of biological evolution, which
has led from the simplest organisms to beings who are capable of measuring time back to the big bang.
Few people would quarrel with the validity or utility of the weak anthropic principle. Some, however, go much further
and propose a strong version of the principle. According to this theory, there are either many different universes or
many different regions of a single universe, each with its own initial configuration and, perhaps, with its own set of
laws of science. In most of these universes the conditions would not be right for the development of complicated
organisms; only in the few universes that are like ours would inte

In days of old he went before the Israelites as they fled Pharaoh's army and fed them with pasta from heaven and with rivers of chianti that flowed like the blood of his enemies.

In New Testament days he fed the multitudes with fish and pasta.

In more modern times he led Marco Polo to China where he learned the secrets of noodles and pasta and brought them back to Italy, the Holy Land.

And today he inspires people to dine at the trattoria of their choice where the food is magnificent and the prices reasonable.

My god is his Noodliness, the Flying Spaghetti Monster and without him there would be no pasta. How can you doubt that he is real?

Depends on what you consider knowledge. If you can allow yourself to believe, and feel that you know it without needing proof, that by definition is faith. That may be all you require. If you need to see, touch, find tangible evidence of something to know it, then God cannot be known, because there is no verifiable proof.

Many people wonder if belief in a Creator is reasonable. Some wonder,"We'll if I can't see him, how do I truly know he exists?" However, think about air, can we see it? No. But we know it's there because we feel it and see how it sustains life. In a similar way, as we look at the planet Earth, the variety of plant and animals, as we examine the human body and DNA and RNA structures we see how complex it was designed. Life is too complex to be a series of ransom happenstance. We must have a Creator! At Romans 1:20 it says, "For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable."

I hope this helps!

Nature can provide the answers you need to see that there is a God in heaven. The fact that you are even asking this question shows your need for a divine father in heaven. It's called a spiritual need, which Jesus spoke about at Matthew 5:3. Humans were created in God's image, not a physical image, but with his qualities, such as love, kindness, wisdom, justice, and many more. Because we are able to display these qualities is sufficient reason to believe that we were created.
