I am a 34 yr old returning college student and I need an inexpensive laptop that could get me through a few years. Any suggestions?

I'm taking classes that doesn't require any major computer programs like graphic designs. Just writing a whole lot of papers, researching etc. What manufacture, model, system would you suggest??!

A Dell laptop, good product, and you should be able to get one, for about $300.

You could get one that will do the job from Amazon.com (where you can search by price) or from Walmart. I would just get the least expensive one I could find if all I wanted to do was write on it. Any computer can do that. You can also download a free writing program like Open Office or LibreOffice if they don't come with a program.

A refurbished Dell inspiron with windows 7 and the free student edition of Microsoft Office Starter. For word processing it won't matter what cpu or graphics card it comes with but you'll want at least 2 gigs of ram and an on board wifi chip.
