Why would my warranty request a copy of my registration and insurance when I am trying to file a claim?

I bought the car 3 months ago with 22,000 miles on it. Recently I heard a noise in the engine and found out 1 of the pistons is damaged. The mechanics are recommending a new engine which costs 4500 dollars. I am worried that they are going to say that a new engine cost too much. Plus the mechanic says he's never got to ask for registration and insurance

When claiming, you should not be asked for a copy of your insurance. This is on condition that the warranty is still valid and the basis of your claim is justified. A copy of registration might be needed for confirmation.

That is what bothers me. Nobody I have to talk to as ever heard of warranties asking for insurance and registration.
