If it was, do you believe they'd be fighting it as hard as they are? It was developed by the oil and gas industry to increase production from older oil, and most newer wells. And that's something the green movement is totally against. Didn't you see the protests in Washington during the Green march on the hill this weekend?
No. The "greens" are really about whatever is the most detrimental to human life and happiness. How else can you explain their lobbying against drilling or cheap energy? They only want expensive and insecure energy. Such as wind, solar and algae. Wind cannot provide stable electricity and the American public will not tolerate an unstable power grid that is subject to brownouts. Solar is expensive and without subsidies cannot stand on its own. Solar-thermal is opposed because it harms the desert; geothermal because it pokes holes in Mother Earth. Algae is years to decades away from being viable, and every other green fuel is more costly or damaging to the environment than natural gas or oil. So, we are supposed to spend more for our fuel and like it? Environmentalism is a tax that is most harmful to the poor, and the environmentalists are smug and self righteous to boot. I will take an honest wildcatter over an environmentalist every time, because at least he's doing something useful with the air he breathes.
i don't think the idea of drilling through the aquifers and pumping poisonous water down were good water is a good idea. Americas lust for energy will turn out disastrously again. the oil companies aren't known for their honesty and this is a fairly new way of drilling,no one knows the consequence of doing this
"Fracking" or "Hyrdaulic Fracturing" is basically blowing up the ground to get oil to spew out. Ok its a little more complicated than that, but you get the idea. Its totally not green for many reasons - one of the worst is the high risk of oil (or any other substances below ground) of contaminating rivers, lakes or other water supplies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydraulic_fracturing
No, not at all. It's causing all these earthquakes. People in some areas have so much methane in their water it actually catches fire. People need to ween off the oil and use alternative sources of energy. This earth cannot handle much more abuse.
Not only is fracking not "green" it can literally be unsafe. There is not enough evidence on fracking for me to be comfortable with possibly contaminating our water (of which there is a limited amount and we MUST have) to produce something that currently has a glut on the market that we can live without, maybe not comfortably but our existence doesn't depend on more gas
All this green stuff is over rated and cracking has bin around for hundreds of years ever since they started to drill and about 5 accidents happened put they fixed should that really matter weather it's green or not what matters is we make money save money and have fuel and this will also bring up our bad economy because we can make money from the oil and I live in Texas and it has never happened to me
