That would depend on what color you are trying to accomplish. If you are near a Beauty Supply store such as Sally's they can help you decide and give you some guidance. But if you are just using your natural color which appears to be a Chestnut Brown from your pic, and you have to use a box color from the Drugstore or Walmart, I would go with Garnier Nutrisse. It has Avocado Oil included...

I have colored my hair for over 15 years. Garnier has always made my straight fine hair limp with no body, and it looks greasy about 3 hours after any shampoo.
Because I love their price and color selection, I will try it every few years, and I have even used it once without putting in the oil packet. Same results.
I love to color my hair because color gives my hair a texture that makes it easier to hold a style, but that is not the case when I use Garnier.

I agree, it's hard when you have fine thin hair. I am licensed, so I was making a suggestion for over- the-counter box haircolor. Most people on Ask are trying to do their own hair at home.... Which is ok if you can find the right one that doesn't damage it. But I would suggest a Professional if you can afford it. ;)

Go to your local professional. Try and find a local Redken Master Colorist as they have great training and products to get the results you want.

Not sure about the best, but don't use Garnier Fructis! It dyes for about a day and it washes all out. That brand is good, that's why I figured it would dye good...but no.

It's best if you just go and get it professionally done. Or try Sally's!

Garnier has a new hair color system. I can't remember what the full name is but is in a black box with a yellow flower on top. It does not use ammonia and makes your hair a lot softer than those brands that do, such as; Herbal Essence, Preference by L'oreal, Nice and Easy by Clairol.

as a cosmetologist it is not the brand.it is how you apply it. any brand you choose is ok just make sure you choose your right hair level. wash hair w/ clarifying shampoo. then I would use conditioner. towel dry. apply color. hair is like a sponge when it is wet so the color will absorb much better coverage. rinse color out really well use conditioner and don't shampoo because you are only washing the color out.
