I am purchasing Armstrong autumn brown cabinet, I want to paint the trim a matching brown. Suggestion for a formula.

If you can take a sample of the color to any paint store. they can match the color for you. take a sample from somewhere not noticable. test the color in an inconspicuous spot let dry first to be sure it's what you want.
A little planning beats sanding or scraping any day.

To paint some parts of already painted furniture, you need to clear the paint on that part with a sand paper. You can then apply your desired color and use the clear furnish for a shiny finishing.

If it's a cabinet, take one of the drawers to a paint store. They can put it under a light that will determine the color formula and it should produce a close match.
