Well, there are always going to be differences in opinions. According to the poll that they took, people wanted these guidelines in place. I like the guidelines because it restricts the site to asking questions and getting answers, instead of chatting.
The new guidelines have gone a long way toward keeping the silliness out of the site.
My only worry about them is that Ask is going to have to hire a whole new batch of Mods because the present crew are in danger of wearing their fingers down to the first knuckle answering questions like, "Why was my question deleted?"

This question is asked more than once every single day. Please read through other Qs before you post. This type of Q is just as tedious as those that are being deleted.
As I have seen these Qs every day...I have also seen the answers. The majority of those who are unhappy with the new guidelines are 18 or younger. If the types of Qs you want to answer are the type of Qs that are being deleted (Does he/she like me? Does Justin Bieber? What is your favorite color? What should I eat?, etc), then you may want to switch over to Ask.com Kids. Here is the link
