Computer not charging iPad?

When I plug my iPad charger into my computer my iPad says not charging. Why is this? Could I fix it?

It works that way for everyone. You can charge I-phones on your computer, though I-pads have to be plugged into a wall outlet. The computer can't generate enough electricity to charge the I-pad.

Yes buy a new cord. The cord you have may have a broken or misplaced wire. Good Luck

you could always restart your computer because my ipod touch used to do the same thing and it wasn't the usb cord sometimes it would the computer it self so just restart it and it should work.

There is a chance that your computer does not put out high enough of a voltage.
