If I bought a baby dog and took it to a police training station could it later become my K9 police partner?

Perhaps, most K9's end up living with handler. Depends if the dog has the right stuff for that line of work. But the dog has to be properly trained through a K9 college. You just can't take your pet on patrol like a pal, it is working.
