How do I tell my dad I don't like being spoiled by him?

He says he just wants the best for me but I don't like being spoiled by him or anyone. I just like to keep to myself. He gets me whatever I want and even stuff I don't want but since its the latest and greatest he thinks I have to have it. How can I tell him to stop without hurting his feelings?

He doesn't know how else to relate to you, or how to show his love for you, so he buys you stuff. Be kind, it's not the worst thing in the world. At least you are lucky enough to have a father in the home with you. So many kids don't have this anymore, and it really hurts them.

You are lucky to have a father in your home with you. Many kids these days don't have that one simple thing that all kids desperately need, so be grateful that your mom got you a good dad. Thank her some time.

I agree with you because im EXACTLY the same way(: i actually told my dad to not spoil me anymore & he said "ay pero si tu eres mi hija!" And yes he still spoils me lol just appreciate it and enjoy(:

That statement sounds like you are spoiled. Look at it this way, it is HIS way showing you he loves you, be gracious and accept it with appreciation, keep it for awhile than give it to someone who would value it or could really use it.

I don't think you understood me, there is ways people show us they love us, they use words of affirmation, some do things, some are affectionate, some buy things, let him show you the way he is wired to, he's your Dad not your husband. With respect You still sound spoiled, you don't want him to show you he loves you, can you hear that??

And I didn't say I don't want him to show he loves me, I just don't want him showering me with stuff I don't need. You are getting out of line and very rude. You have really just hurt me even worse. My apology, I mean you no ill! I am unable to share my tone of voice with you and I do not intent you any harm! We are all spoiled, in some way or another :) we take it for granted we can get out of bed every day,those of us who can.
Love is shown in different ways. I only wanted to share with you what my experiences in my line of business has showed me over the many years and my own years of experience. My apology again.
