How do you get rid of dandruff?

Recently, I've been suffering from really bad dandruff. I don't know why, because I haven't started any new hair products and I live a rather healthy lifestyle, but I can't figure out why I have so much dandruff all of a sudden. I can't switch shampoos because I already use a medicated one for unhealthy hair, and I shower daily. Any other solutions?

Lysterine! Seriously... I've known this for years but it was also on Dr. Oz. Sometimes dandruff is caused by a bacterial infection, so lysterine will kill the dandruff. Get ORIGINAL, because the flavored ones will make your hair sticky. Shampoo your hair as normal, then pour a few cap-fulls of lysterine on the top of your head and rub into your scalp. Then rinse and condition.

You could also use white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. They make your hair smooth, but they're very stinky lol.

Yes, the apple cider is very stinky, it's almost sickening but it does work. I swear by it. (: The smell is awful, but the improvement makes it all worth it, lol.

maybe try looking for shampoos and conditioners that say they help with dandruff on the bottle. or you could try a few different shampoo/conditioner combos that help you with that. i hope i helped!

Try using a shampoo made to fight dandruff. I think there's at least a few on the market.

They sell hair masks in the hair isle try it for a few days and it should add moisture to your hair.
Dandruff is dead skin cells flaking off because they are dry.
Good luck!!!!

You can do what I used to do: Take a comb and run it over my scalp on a smooth dark surface, then take the mess and separate them into little piles or save it for a practical joke. (Some dandruff could be passed off as "seasoner" or perhaps some "creamer" for a coffee?) However since I suspect you're a young girl, the above suggestion may not be to your liking, in which case I might suggest you try Axe shampoo. Even though it is mainly marketed towards boys/men, I find it has done a fairly good job of controlling my BEARD/MUSTACHE dandruff, up to a point. (I no longer get dandruff on my scalp, but when I let my beard and mustache grow really long, the flakes that can accumulate can make Kellogg's corn flakes pale by comparison for some reason. Trust me-- Just as embarrassing.)

Lol! While I don't know about your suggestion, you're right. Was my username a giveaway?

To Smilesandrainbows: Regarding your username, let me just say this: I suffer from the disease of machismo somewhat and as a result would probably never use such a moniker myself, so yeah it kind of gave it away. (Sort of.)

You do realize I said in the "extra detail' space why I can't switch shampoo right?

To Smilesandrainbows: Golly! I made the same mistake too! I didn't read your question closely enough at first, so I guess Axe Shampoo is out of the question?

The generic version of Head and Shoulders actually works better than Head and Shoulders itself for me..the brand is called Equate...they sell it at Walmart.
