What happens when you update your iPod ?

I've never actually updated my iPod or asked anybody about it . I'm sorry if I sound really stupid . Does it delete your apps or do something else ?

When I updated my iPod it just added new features, which you can delete if you don't want them. I don't think you need to worry about losing any apps/songs ect.

I haven't updated like in 2 years, but if my brain is still working; it will delete apps/photos, and in order to keep them, you would have to back up your iPod and afterte update restore it to that backup.

Nah if ur wondering cause the 6.00 or what ever the iOS 6 update is here it won't delete anything it didn't delete any if my info it just gave me more emoji ???????? these and it made my iPod have a different look on settings

It will keep your contacts and photos but you will have to redownload the music and apps from your iTunes account

it does not delete the apps, it basically just installs an update to current software. so the music app, it might look different, shouldn't delete any music. but I strongly recommend backing up your music files to a computer before updating.
