Poverty causes any number of social issues costing the country money. There will always be people who have less. Some will be by choice. The best solution is create better paying jobs. Not raise minimum wage or expand welfare. Most people I believe want to make their own living. It's nearly impossible for those with low income jobs to pull them selves above water.
Some thoughts: There are no money barriers wherever we go - shopping malls, gas stations, grocery stores; Nobody asks how much is in your bank account or wallet( don't tell!), or how much your clothes cost( although you can tell mostly); who can go to the beach( there are some private beaches); Our taxes pay the bills of some of the poor, SOMEBODY is going to be the least paid person.
I have been on my own since I was a child , poverty makes a person realize just how cruel people can be , and how the world revolves around money Unless you've HAD to do unspeakable things to survive , you don't really learn to appreciate the things in life that really matter , life, hope , faith , Perseverance , and the ability to Adapt to situations , but never forget where you come from , in my case I chose to rise above the percentage Table , and to be better , and vowed to help anyone who had the determination , and faith , to not fall Victim to the world , self taught , life's lessons , self taught street survival, Has made me into a poster child of Abuse , and I have deep issues , but I try to not to hold everyone to one persons actions , I fail miserably sometimes , and apologies alot , but I keep trying , but it's always front and center to keep my guard up , it sucks too
