Hey shane :) I find this very interesting too! We discuss this quite frequently in my film class, about how humans are often very emotional and irrational. Most of the things we believe, are based off emotion, and even the choices we make. The reason an emphasis of this is made in my class, is because when we write papers about our opinions of certain conflicts, we are only prohibited to use logic, facts, and experiences to back up our belief. If we can't think of any logical reasons to back up our points, it's probably because it's not based on logic at all, but rather, emotion. (And then you better pick a new topic -_-) I'm amazed now at how many things I think and believe are based off emotion, even when it's intermixed with facts. I think emotions are simply what makes us human. Humans tend to be more "moral", and morals are based off emotions, as is empathy.. We posses empathy, fear, guilt, and many other countless emotions. I think emotions can be both be bad and good. Emotions cause us to act, but, they can also hold us back.
Well, honestly, I don't really, but I'm not most people, but yeah, I think it has something to do with that part of our brains being enlarged/advanced/evolved or something.. very good question, though...
