Why do we twitch in our sleep? Better yet why to we move in our sleep at all?

It's an animal thing. We shift in our sleep to keep from crushing our veins and sometimes twitch for similar reasons.

People think it is because they are having a dream and are unconsciously acting out their dream, for instance if they twitch their paws they are running, or if they twitch their mouth they are eating, and so on.

They are probably dreaming.
Or it's a natural instinct for a creature so adorable to be adorable still, even when unconscious.
