"I guess we learn from each other, cause we stepping stones...living life without a care" what this mean someone help me with this quote?

Wisdom passed down is usually not fully appreciated/understood, until later in Life. Then, the wisdom assimilated "shines" forward directing one's path.

Basically we learn from our past, so as to not make the same mistakes of our ancestors, and the feeling of the writer seems to give a feeling of the ignorance of people's that do not lean on this understanding but live for their own desires and end up repeating the past.
