Do you feel there is ANY evidence of God/ a god/ gods?

I mean EVIDENCE, not stuff like,"If there was no God then the universe would be in chaos." I mean an actual ANSWER, not a philosophy or a bible quote, but living breathing (or any kind, for that matter) EVIDENCE that God exists. Don't answer, "Me," either.

I see no evidence whatsoever....man created the gods and goddesses we read about. Religion is mythology...but useful for many people.

Yes. Look at the complexities of the human body. How every part not only compliments the others but how they all work together. Look at the complexities of just one human cell and all that it holds. Go to Niagra Falls. Or to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. Or to the Grand Canyon. This may not be the "evidence" that you asked for...but how much more "proof"
do you need???

What does all that have to do with a God? With that logic, a God is used to explain the things that are hard or unable to explain. That isnt what I was taught about a God.
Report as
What were you taught about God. My logic is this: We are intelligently designed. You can't deny that the human body is exquisite. Intelligent design suggests a creator. As far as the wonders of nature: it just makes sense that someone put it into motion. I realize that many on here won't agree with me, and may even choose to openly mock me or call me stupid. I'm ok with that. I look around at the majesty of life and love and beauty and nature, and think, how can there NOT be a God?
Report as
I wasnt mocking... Nor calling you stupid. I was merely asking.
Report as
I know. I didn't mean you. And I apologize if I sounded defensive. I have been mocked and called stupid on this site many times in debates about God. I put that in there, not for you, but for the benefit of anyone else who happens to read this comment thread. What were you taught about God?

Very good start, Harmony. I'll help you go a little further.

I concur with you you Harmon very good points

Basically you just posited what is known as the Argument from Ignorance fallacy- you don't understand how something works therefore god. All those things you listed are evidence of nothing but nature, and that becomes fairly obvious the more one studies them.

Look, I don't know how you understand this, but, is it possible that something comes into existence 'out of nothing' and 'by itself'.
Nobody's mind can imagine that, even those who deny a higher power's existence, whatever you may name it.
And that 'superbeing' is just one. More is not possible.

Science does not say the universe came from "nothing". That's what theists claim their "god" did.

Even if you do not accept the idea of God as written or believe in any God or you can't understand any of the theories given for how things came to be you and anyone else out there can't conclude with out a doubt or question how everything came to be. Something had to cause it. You just need to decide what YOU think caused the universe to happen. And research research research

Yes evidence is everywhere. Look at outer space all the galaxies, stars, planets, the enormous vastness we can't begin to comprehend. Look at our own planet all the plants and animals working together in ecosystems each vital in some way to earths stability. Our own bodies how complex and we can't even understand our own brain. Do you really believe it was all an accident from some explosion that happened from nothing. Last time I check nothingness can't explode let alone create all of this. But all the evidence I need is the fact the I can feel him here in my life.

And the Argument from Ignorance fallacy again- you don't understand science therefore god.

FYI- the Big Bang was not actually an explosion and did not involve "nothing". It would help of you actually understood it before dismissing it.
Report as
I was being sarcastic about the nothingness. Sarcasm something I thought you knew something about. Every comment you make has to be sarcastic.
Report as
You don't understand God so science...which, hmmmm, has proven nothing and created more questions that can not be explained. I disagree with you and probably always will but I do not comment on your answers please refrain from butting in on mine. And here I thought it was supposed to be Christians who didn't respect others beliefs. Guess I am wrong again.
Report as
You can believe anything you want, but you called it "evidence". That means it is subject to critical scrutiny.
Report as
My point is you are quick to start a fight with anybody that believes in God by making snide comments and calling us stupid and uneducated. Then people like you yell and scream that we are pushing our beliefs on you if we openly disagree. It is childish and hypocritical. So I will ask you kindly to leave my answers alone as I have always respected your right to your unbelief and left yours alone. Thank you.

Science has proven nothing? Wow you can thank science (and engineering) that you're not still living in the dark ages and for that piece of technology you're using right now and every time you or someone you know needs an emergency trip to the hospital. You can whatever opinion you want but this opinion of yours is factually wrong.
Report as
Wow really? I am not an idiot. I meant in disproving God. In all science's attempts to disprove God exists, it has just raised more questions and done nothing to prove your argument.

Science doesn't have anything to do with the concept of gods. It's hilariously arrogant that you think scientists like myself have nothing better to do than bother with ancient mythology.
Report as
Wrong again. Scientists don't try and disprove any god. That's not the goal of science and they have actual important things that occupy their time and effort. They don't all gather together say "well how are we going to attempt to disprove the judea christian god today?"
Report as
Exactly- I have far more important research than that to be getting on with.

Poof! And man came to exist out of thin air. I'd did not. It was planned and there was a creator and it was our heavenly father God that created us and all things. Everything was made perfect and in order and God had a hand in it

Yes you do- magic is defined as use of supernatural means to accomplish a task. Just because you label it "god" doesn't make it any less "magic".

Nothing whatsoever of the kind you expect. What would you accept as evidence? Photos, a video interview? God is our answer to explain the awesomeness of what we see around us, because we couldn't create anything even close. But we always want a explanation for everything, so we came up with the God concept.

Is there evidence that Zeus, Thor (god of lightning), Mars (god of war), Vishnu, Inti, (sun god of the Incas), Quetzalcoatl (Mayan), Ra (Egypt). Millions believed in these gods yet their followers are no longer with us. All these religions were older than Islam, Christianity or Judaism. The modern religions have existed for about 2000 years or so ( a little more for Judaism). Think about what all this means and draw your own conclusion.

Yep, when the doctor says there is nothing left that can be done and gives up all hope. He almost always says "It's in God's hands now, and the person pulls though!" :)

That's not true, you have no way of knowing that, and "the person pulls through" is just wishful thinking because that is obviously not what generally happens.

Nature tends to go toward disorder. To go from a high energy state to a low energy state. Look at anything, as it decays, it goes toward a low energy state.
Decay of uranium, read about the half life of uranium. As hydrogen peroxide decays, you get water and oxygen. Both are examples of high energy to low energy. Medication as it expires, it decays, loses its effectiveness, breaks down into lower energy compounds. The center of our solar system, the sun, gives off energy and decays. The human body decays once it stops repairing itself. When something is created, it takes energy to do that. That doesn't happen in nature. Nature tends toward chaos. High energy goes to low energy, order goes to disorder. CONTINUED BELOW.

Maybe this infusion of energy is what we simple humans define as the work of God. Maybe energy is the spark of life. Man cannot create life. I can order computer parts and assemble them into a computer, but I did not create it. To create life, you first must create protons, neutrons and electrons out of nothing. No matter what you talk about, take it one step farther back. At the point where no one can explain, you may begin to enter the realm of a supreme being. All the quibbling, isn't about a supreme being. It's about man's failed attempts to explain the supreme being. Just because we can't explain the supreme being correctly, isn't proof that one doesn't exist.

Jesus Christ is the clearest, most specific picture of God revealing himself to us.
Look throughout the major world religions and you'll find that Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius and Moses all identified themselves as teachers or prophets. None of them ever claimed to be equal to God. Surprisingly, Jesus did. That is what sets Jesus apart from all the others. He said God exists and you're looking at him. Though he talked about his Father in heaven, it was not from the position of separation, but of very close union, unique to all humankind. Jesus said that anyone who had seen Him had seen the Father, anyone who believed in him, believed in the Father. He claimed attributes belonging only to God: to be able to forgive people of their sin, free them from habits of sin, give people a more abundant life and give them eternal life in heaven. Unlike other teachers who focused people on their words, Jesus pointed people to himself. He did not say, 'follow my words and you will find truth." He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but through me."

There cannot be "evidence" that there is a God, because we are supposed to have faith and believe in him. Although the miracles that have been worked through his son Jesus Christ and others, as well as the scriptures, testify that there is a God.

Yes because of all the prophecies that have been full filled from the beginning of creation.

Romans 1:20-21

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

No there isn't any evidence that any gods exist or have ever existed. The ancient writings of Bronze Age men do not constitute proof. There is much modern evidence that contradicts those texts.

Yes, something cannot come from nothing. That is a scientific rule. Or everything has already existed for eternity, that is impossible also. http://toptenproofs.com/article_godsexistence.php there have been many prophecies in the bible that have been fullfilled. Who else could be that accurate.
