No, they are not. They bite and tend to be nervous. They are not like having a small child. and in many places they are illegal to own. Other places you need to be licensed. My sister-in-law works for a zoo. She has two monkeys because people tried to surrender them to the zoo. The Zoo cannot take them. She is licensed and has to pass yearly inspections. Plus she has to take them to a special vet because most vets do not deal with them.
They are dangerous, not to mention illegal in most states. A couple years ago a lady had a pet monkey that was supposed to be tame and trained. She fed it from the table and called it Travis. One day the lady's friend came over. A friend Travis had seen many times and knew. That day Travis went crazy and ripped the lady's face off. You can say its trained all you want, it's still a wild animal that has the strength of 10 men.
They are quiet adorable little things, but truth is they are just crazy, dangerous, and nasty I mean now how would you like it if you were to get one and it broke out of it's cage or leash and threw poop on you then attack you going BONKERS? Something you might want to rethink over before you get a large one so instead get a little spider monkey.... LOL!!!! xD
