People say Santa is real, the Easter bunny, leprechauns on St. Patrick's day, but you've never ever seen any of these things, yet you are told they exist. Isn't God the same way? You are told He exists but you've never seen him, but people believe, and that's the point.
No one really knows. Evolution has been scientifically proven and the universe is so incredible that it is possible that this all happened from millions and millions of years of evolving but on the other hand no one can prove God didn't create all of this. You have to choose what you believe, no one can give you any hard facts whether or not he/she/it exists.
Sometimes no matter how much logic you use and reasoning with this person, you may not convince her that God is real. The question is, how strong is your belief and faith in God and his written word? Is it as strong as Moses' faith as shown in Hebrews 11:27 "By faith he left Egypt, but not fearing the anger of the king, for he continued steadfast as seeing the One who is invisible." Is that God that real to you? You can only try with a person that does not believe, but don't get frustrated if you cannot help them see what is true.
Yes He is Real. And for those who truly seek Him He will become real in their lives though the power of the Holy Spirit. But you must first humble yourself before God, admit your a sinner in need of a Savior, Repent and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins. Then start reading the Bible and praying to Jesus and spend time with other Christian believers.

Katy, don't force your beliefs on her or anyone else. Chances are you live in America, right? People here have every right to believe or not believe as they choose. Let her be. It's people who preach to the unwilling that give the faithful a bad rap.
Tell her to read the bible from genesis to revelation and have to focus and have a solid state if mind and believe that he lives in her, she just have to allow him to use her as a vessel for others as well.
