Konichiwa is the proper way to say hello in Japanese.

"Moshi-moshi" isn't "hello", it's a slang term they use a lot like we say "hey" or "what's up?"

Well any time i went on google and looked up 'what does moshi mean' it would always pull up 'moshi moshi' means hello so im just going bye that and im very certain that it does mean 'hello'

It's a variation of hello, but it isn't the word "hello" exactly. "hello" in Japanese is Konichiwa (in romanaji). Just because you googled it doesn't mean it's true.

Just think of it as an expression. Like OK. You don't ask "what is the K".
