I haven't been on here much as of late, but I hear tell that the "guidelines" have been amended......I also see a lot of people complaining of these changes.....I guess the owners of the sandbox make the rules.....
Freedom of speech is a constitutional right however, this is an ask a question, hope for an intelligent and helpful answer site. This is not a site to "speak" your opinions. There are many blogs on the Internet whereby you can speak your mind. Enjoy your day!
Other than really offensive stuff, there's really nothing in the new guidelines that prevents anyone from asking almost anything they want to. It's just a matter of taking the extra time to figure out how to say it in a way that fits with guidelines. Think of it as a challenge towards using new and creative ways of getting your point across.
I think for too long people have been trying to use the site for something that it really wasn't intended to be, and it's finally getting back on track. There are plenty of sites for posting random nonsense, so I'm glad that Ask is working it's way back to the way things used to be.
