Help opening .docx files.

I have read there is a download from Microsoft to help with this but I don't know which one it is. I have Microsoft XP. So I need to convert them to .doc I would assume. Can anyone help me or give me a link to download a file converter from Microsoft, if that's what I even need? Thank you!

If you can't afford Ms Office download Libre Office it's free and has same features as Ms Office you can view the file there

openoffice.org is also free and can open MS Word .docx files.

Maybe you can try to upload it to Google Doc and open it there!
