You can use an upholstery attachment on a vacuum to suction out the crumbs. My mom always used one of those small whisk brooms after each use as well as soap and water every week. Hope this helps. Blessed Be.

For toaster...... First, unplug it from power.... Flip and dump is good. If you have a can of compressed air for cleaning keyboards, try to blow the crumbs out as well. If you aren't too clumsy use a thin light duty bottle brush, or artist's brush to scrape the inner parts. Careful, don't bang up the sensitive heating ribbon or coil, or your toaster becomes toast.
