How do you clean a toaster oven?

Its so dirty inside, And I smell burnt crumbs. Do you just shake out all the crumbs inside?

Report as

That's what I generally do. Flip it upside down over the sink and tap the side, shake, just get all those crumbs out :)

Most toasters and toaster ovens also have a crumb tray that just slides out for ease of cleaning.

Indeed. I always bought the cheap ones that didn't have a tray :D

There should be a tray at the bottom you can pull out and clean.

There should be a tray at the back. Turn it around and look for a slot/opening w. a tray. If all else fails, hold it upside-down (downside-up??? :D) over the trash/sink and shake.

Use easy off cleaner, and wipe with a dry or wet rag. Thoroughly clean cleaner out of oven to get chemical out.

There is usually a door that opens underneath to allow cleaning

You can use an upholstery attachment on a vacuum to suction out the crumbs. My mom always used one of those small whisk brooms after each use as well as soap and water every week. Hope this helps. Blessed Be.

For toaster...... First, unplug it from power.... Flip and dump is good. If you have a can of compressed air for cleaning keyboards, try to blow the crumbs out as well. If you aren't too clumsy use a thin light duty bottle brush, or artist's brush to scrape the inner parts. Careful, don't bang up the sensitive heating ribbon or coil, or your toaster becomes toast.
