My friend had breast cancer. The Dr removed all the breast tissue and put in some type of implant. Its swelling and hurting wat can this be?

There was no tissue taken from anywhere on her body to create the breast. Just an implant also there is no nipple. Could she be rejecting this??

My advice is that your friend should get that thing out of there. There are other ways of dealing with post-surgery concerns. It sounds like clear rejection. Implants are not good for women and this one sure isn't good for your friend.

Thank you for your advise I really believe she has to have this removed she does to!! Dr,s are really taken there good ole time and she's in a lot of pain!!! Its been almost 2 months since the surgery!

Maybe her family doctor could send her to somebody else. If the pain is excruciating, go to emergency. I'm so sorry.

From my own experience; advise her to go to another Doctor for a second opinion! I had Intramuscular implants put in after major breast surgery to remove
Lemon size Cancerous lumps, had problems from the start the night of the surgery but stupidly chose to just deal with the pain etc. as was scheduled for trip to Antarctica! Pain and swelling eventually subsided some but now after years of problems will have them removed and due to long delay will be much more complicated surgery. Should have listened to my body and done it right away! Each person is different and your friends surgery seems to have been a lot more radical so could be case of pain and swelling from healing from original surgery still, but to be sure would definitely get another opinion! Good luck to her.:-).

eeeew they stole her nipple? There could be a reaction to whatever implant they used or, it could just be a sideeffect

Ewww? Really? That's the last thing i'd care about so long as they removed the cancer. How about having a little sympathy?

sometimes the body rejects it sometimes it doesnt it also needs time to adjust a body going thru kemo or any kind of cancer takes a beating
i suggest talking to the doctor my mother had sarcomas cancer and had a titanium hip put in and it took her body a bit to adjust and there were terrible side affects
