A dancer can generally communicate with an audience using body language. For instance, you can use your facial expressions to let the audience know what the dance is about.

Wow..love dancing..The best ways are facial expressions, personality and eye contact.
The fact that you love dancing will reach the audience.Just your moves alone will set the mood.:)

There are already some good suggestions but I'll add two more.

Develop an outgoing personality. Your charisma will touch your audience on a level they don't even know exists.

Have fun, and share that fun with your audience. Smile, let them see that you're enjoying yourself and, if they join in with you, they'll enjoy themselves too.
