Really low self esteem

So i have really low self esteem. To the point where i cant look at people in the eyes when i talk. I lay in my bed and cry everynight because i know i could be so much better looking. I have a really close friend who is so pretty & just perfect. I hate so many things about myself! Im so tall & skinny its just ugly. My smile is so bad & my nose is the weirdest you could ever find. I hate seeing myself ruining my teenage years like this, but its the truth & idk what to do anymore

Stop worrying about what everybody else thinks,be yourself and be assertive.Everybody could be better looking in some way,and all the people you think are "perfect" usually have some sort of deficiency that isn't seen in public. You'll be alright, dust yourself off,and stand tall.

I suffered the same thing. Get up every day, look your self dead in the eye in a mirror and say im f-ing awesome. IAnd try to admire a facial feature. Consider this, when you lock eyes it often un nerves people. And never cry, it adds pitty to your mindset. That will worsen the problem.

First of all, I bet you are beautiful and just don't realize it! Trying thinking of the things you like about yourself, whether it may be looks or personality. Ask other people around you, what they think of you. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Keep your head up high and be optimistic. There are people worse off than you and no one is perfect. Just a bit of advice! Hope you regain your self confidence :).

Judging by your description of yourself, you honestly sound like a model. They are tall, thin, and honestly they have weird noses and such all the time. They just act beautiful. So, give yourself a makeover, and find what you are good at because that is more important.

I don't know how old you are. Some girls in junior high and high school go through really gawky stages before they become who they really are. Do you know who Cindy Crawford is? She was a model in the 80s and 90s. Very pretty. She was not attractive at all in high school. A friend once told me this phrase: compare...despair. If you are always comparing yourself to others, you will be a wreck! There will always be someone prettier, with a better figure, smarter, richer, funnier. Try to take your eyes off yourself and be a giving person. See if you can get a good hair cut or make up lessons. Try and work on the things you don't like. You can't change everything! You are uniquely you! And remember, God doesn't make junk!

When I am feeling down myself, I like to read the Desiderata. It's not very long, but too long to paste in here. You can find it at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desiderata

Go down the page until you see: Full text. Read it. Think about it. It is NOT a religious statement that you can pray and fix everything.

I'm sure you are not as bad looking as you think. When I was a teenager I also had low self esteem. The only way to get over it is to believe in yourself. When you walk into a room, force yourself to hold your head high and put a smile on your face, smile at anyone you make eye contact with. Walk into the room like you own it!!
