In my opinion it is the poodle or an Alaskan Malamute. I have an Alaskan malamute and she is extremely smart but scared of everything! I would not recommend an Alaskan malamute as a guard dog, they are very wimpy!!! they are wonderful family pets though, only if you show them who is boss early on, somewhat stubborn but after a couple tries they will get the point and soon learn who's the master! I hope it helped you find the perfect pet!

I have a bernese and she watches then repeats common actions you do. Like opening baby gates. Try a rot weiler. There over stereo typed. But very clever.

I have a Dobie and she is great. She's very smart and wouldnt let anything come between her and her family. Never a problem with training. She's perfect, couldn't ask for a better dog.

The border collie is usually rated as the smartest, with poodles running a close second.

Boarder collies are the smartest breed known. But I suggest getting a mix because they live longer then purebred

Border collie or Australian Shepard, smartest breeds. Very trainable, but need alot of stimulation or they get into trouble. Labrador Retrievers are great all purpose dogs, very loyal,trainable.........that is why they are chosen for service dogs.
