Ask your teacher for extra help or ask a friend that understands it if they can tutor you.

Join the club man! I'm just plain terrible at math... If your failing, go to tutoring, you don't wanna fail like I did(1st time too :/) ... Definitely not worth it, your gonna have to work x2 as hard as other people..

I agree with asking your teacher or another student who gets it for help. Also, do all of your homework even if you get stuck, try them all. If you find you start to understand a little better after you do a few problems, do more. When your teacher goes through the homework, go back and correct the problems you missed- don't just write down the correct answer. Find out how to get the correct answers ask for help if you need it. You learn better from your mistakes if you correct them. Finally, to study for a test/quiz, go back to your old homework and try working through the problems again to see if you can still get the correct answers.

I would recommend the "Math Doesn't Suck" books by Danica McKellar. She makes math so easy! It's geared towards girls but is really helpful.

Take it slow, dont try to rush or get frustrated. Ask your teacher or parents if you don't understand it.

Depending on how good your teacher is at explaining step by step, ask them, or have someone help you
