In her early childhood Amelia Earhart received a home school education at her grandparents house in Atchison, Kansas, where she lived. At the age of 12 she reunited with her parents in Des Moines in 1909, and enrolled in public school there. In 1915 the family moved to St Paul, Minnesota, where she entered the Central High School as a junior. Soon after she moved with her mother to Chicago, entered Hyde Park High School and graduated there in 1916. She began junior college at Ogontz School in Rydal, Pennsylvania but did not complete her program. As it was the time of WW1 she took training as a nurse's aide from the Red Cross, she began work with the Volunteer Aid Detachment at Spadina Military Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
