I used an electronic shock collar on my mastiffs, it has an audible alert before it shocks the animal. It worked so well, that I've now switched off the shock function and only use the audible alert only. Try one, they are available at most large pet supply stores.

No, but it will stop them from doing what they're doing at that moment. My mastiffs are trained as guard and feral animal control on my property, and I needed a long range device to control them when out of their pens. When in their body armor, they become quite formidable, and know that they are all work from that point on. Take away their armor, and they are just some huge slobber box puppies at heart.

he will grow out of it with time, but you may want to walk him reagulary,i'v had many pitbulls pups and grown dogs.just wait a while he may stop having the urge to chew on everything.pluss he may have a loose tooth and needs to get rid of it.

Use a spray bottle of water and squirt him when he chews. He won't like that.

Buy him lots of chew toys and spray a product on the plants so that he won't chew. There's probably one at your local pet shop.

You need to give him things that are OK to chew on. Dogs teeth just like humans do, and they need something to chew on. It's also good to identify things that are OK to chew because it's an instinct that they'll carry for the rest of their lives. Just make sure to get something sturdy, like the Kong toy brand.

Also, this worked for our smaller dogs, but putting Tobasco on a paper towel and rubbing it on anything the dog has been chewing will dissuade the dog from chewing on that thing again.

BEST ANSWER.
he's 9 mos and probably still teething. BUY HIM A NICE RAW HIDE BONE.or 2
NEVER HIT YOUR DOG he will become hand shy or worse. I used a squirt pistol on my brindled mastiff (Lug Nut) Or a rolled up news paper to make a loud noise w/ my hand. Try to catch it when it's doing something wrong. they have a short attention span and won't understand if done too late.
lugnut chewed up my roomates 1985 LaSabre (car) and 2 reclinning chairs.
