What's the best way to lower your cholesterol with out any medication ?

not really too high, but I don't like to take medicine , thanks

Mine came down by eating steel-cut oats every morning and taking fish oil capsules. You can also eat some fatty fish and foods high in soluble fiber such as beans. Fill your diet with healthy foods and exercise daily. You might want to journal what you eat and then look to see if there is anything you need to cut back on that may attribute.

Taking Psyllium capsules two or three times a day is a great Cholesterol buster ! Also , drink two cups of Birch leaf tea every day and that helps too ! My cholesterol is great since I started using these two products ! I recently had a blood test and the Doctor remarked that my cholesterol was great ! Fish oil helps too and shooshies diet sounds great ! The statins that the Doctors give you are hard on your kidneys and liver .

It can have laxative effect . Not that would hurt you but try like one three times a day ! You should be fine ! It works good ! Good luck !

My cholesterol is also affected by my thyroid levels which I didn't know until recently. Things seem to come closer to normal when my thyroid levels are also normal. It's all connected.

It sure is ! I take meds for HypoThyroidism ! Low Thyroid levels . So , I watch what I eat , drink my tea , take my psyllium and fish oil and my cholesterol is great for an old fart ! LoL !

I'll throw some cool authors at you , some you might know and already read but here is a short list of our favorites ! Clive Cussler , Larry Bond Stephen, Hunter , Stephen Coonts , Stephen King , Vince Flynn , Brad Thor , Dean Koontz , Richard Laymon , Preston and Child , Charlaine Harris , Dave Barry and Carl Hiasson . We know a bunch more if you exhaust these ! If you want wierd , read Clive Barker .

Dean Koontz wrote all of the "Odd" books too , they're good ! Give Clive Cussler a shot ! He wrote : Raise The Titanic ! Excellent book !

He "helps" people with their problems ! Most of the time with violence ! He's almost a paid killer , but not really ! He walks a fine line . When people have someone or something threatening them , they call on Repairman Jack to "fix" it for them !

I am diabetic, and ate Cheerios and oatmeal (steel cut is good). Now cholesterol is low. Also stay away from fatty meats such as sausage, bacon, hot dogs, pepperoni, etc..

Reduce your intake of dairy and meat. Better yet, cut it out of your diet altogether. Eat lots of fresh fruits, veggies, legumes, and oats. Read labels. Exercise and try to live a stress free life. :) Good luck!

I'm taking fish oil right now for my cholesterol (two capsules per day). Doctor says it's supposed to help. Hopefully I'll be able to get off my prescription medicine for cholesterol eventually.

Watch- Honey Nut Cheerios have more sugar than regular ones. Sugar = plaque = clogged arteries. Read labels.

i would say by cutting down on salt , salt is the biggest thing to make your cholesterol go up so thats what to do

Mine was marginally high, doctor told me to take Lipitor... No way.
Cheerios, cut out dairy and meat, lots of veg. and fruits, whole grains.
I take red rice yeast every day, this seemed to drop cholesterol the most.
Now taking Flax seed oil to increase "good" cholesterol, which dropped also.

i ate healthy and balanced my diet. i ate baked goods and raw veggies and fruits. i also cut down on the salt. now my cholesterol is down 200 points.

Aerobic exercise that is. Swim, run, cycle, etc. for a half hour a day or so; i.e. until you get your heartrate up. That will boost your metabolism so that the fatty acids etc. will be consumed by your body even at rest.

Try adding Chia seeds and some Craisins to your steel cut oatmeal. They are actually better than Flax seeds. Also walnuts are an excellent good fat source especially for breakfast.

cheerios, oatmeal with fresh fruit, low fat cheeses and meats, vitamin rich veggies such as kale, corn, carrots. Excersize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT TAKE RED RICE! It has a lot of bad side effects like destroying joints. Fish Oil is good. Exercise, less fatty foods, Cheerios or Oatmeal, Fruit & Veggies.
