Jesus provided salvation for all people. However, it is up to each of us to accept it for ourselves.

*Jesus never fails*.....-________-
no jesus never fails he is a gentleman if you want help or saving he will save you but he will never force himself on anyone
No, Jesus never failed. The Church did and many, many people have been killed just because they believed that the Lord our God is One God, and not three in one.
Saving one soul in a million would be a success. Christ did not fail us. We fail ourselves.
.
Hi, Suzie. :) How's your day?
Dude. Like 30% of the world is Christian. We have and will for a while been the largest religion (really hate that word) in the world
I doubt Jesus expected everyone to go His way. Rather He succeeded to give everyone the chance.
Yes he did fail. This is why Christianity is just like any other religion, it's wrong. But yes he did fail.
Big time
People have their religions of their parents, and where they were born. It isn't about one man.
I don't think so.. Jesus never fails.. maybe he just can't save people who don't want to be save, Jesus respects that.... :)
No Jesus did not fail. It is the people who make their own choices. Some people end up blaming God for the things that they have done mean while it is the people who make their own mistakes and don't like to admit what they have done so they happen to take their anger out on God.
You tell me?
A religion gets invented that becomes the basis for suffering and genocide to many people in many parts of the world
but then they feel bad and make sure the have cloths.. none of which are in style of course.. dig a few wells so they have water at the god forsaken place they've been chased to..
then when they find something of value there... move them again?
Hmm do we really need to ask?
God, that was a funny addition, though. :)
How could God fail? No Jesus did not fail, but man has failed from the beginning. It's man's chose to receive Salvation. Therefore it is man that rejects it. He alreay knew from the beginning that there will only be a small percentage that chose to follow Him.
Matthew 7:13
13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
That scripture means He died for all mankind that is willing to accept it. If all mankind accepted it then all would be Saved.
John 1:1-3
New King James Version (NKJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word ( Jesus ), and the Word ( Jesus ) was with God, and the Word ( Jesus ) was God. 2 He ( Jesus ) was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him ( Jesus ), and without Him ( Jesus ) nothing was made that was made.
I never got the impression that he was here to 'save all' .. The way I understand it, is he came to provide salvation. There is a chasm of difference. He came to provide "the way" .. it is up to the rest of us to make a choice.
I think it's in Matthew. Have bible next to me but just don't care to google and find it but you ca look it up if you didn't know that was in there. It's my opinion that being a bragadosho about being the harbinger of war is a epic fail.
.
Matt 10:34
[Jesus:] "Do not think that I came to bring peace on Earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword."
.
I believe Jesus means He won't make everyone follow Him, and not everyone will, but He will be with those who do even in times of trouble and war and things alike.
Matthew 26:52
52 But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.
Hebrews 4:12
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Ephesians 6:14-20
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
To 'kill' also can mean 'to put to an end'...again, it's a matter of interpretation. He is not coming here in the flesh to slaughter with his almighty steel sword .. he is coming here in spirit to 'put to an end'.
We have no control over history, what has transpired and how the bible was written .. but we can assuredly comprehend that we are in for a big change of things to come.
.
Bikergirl - Good comment. I was just thinking and came up with the idea that maybe God made us to enjoy His ways when we recognize them. I mean, if you think about it, God could have made humanity with complete opposite preferences and so we would see fairness and kindness as evil and grueling. But He made us so that we love His ways. (Sorry if this is kind of fragmented; I'm not on my literate game today. :P) What do you think?
.
About your comment to Bikergirl: misinterpretation of anything is possible; that's not God's fault, it's the misinterpreter's. Everyone sins, no one is perfect and you can't single out Christians.
The bible is a book of knowledge and testiment. It gives us a lot of insight into something much bigger than us. It provides a way to help us to understand a little bit of history as well as who we are, how we as humans function. Kind of like a human body & brain 'owners manual'. It is meant to shine light on how to conduct ourselves and to make things better.
However .. It has been used and abused since it's inception. Knowinging it's powerful nature, men have convoluded the truth and it's very intention by using it's contents to control and manipulate for their own gain. Like any book, .. even a harmless nursery rhyme can be construed into something that it wasn't intended, and turned into something dark and sinister thanks to misinterpretation. We as humans .. are good at doing that.
That's where faith steps in .. faith in finding the truth...Whatever that is.
.
Bikergirl - I think we have a misunderstanding. :P Nevermind.
"Jesus" likely never existed, and the premise makes little sense in the first place.
What sort of allegedly "loving" deity who wants to "save" all humanity would present that message to a tiny group of ignorant desert dwellers? What sort of "loving" deity requires blood sacrifice in the first place? Christianity is not much different than other earlier mythologies of the region.
It is up to us to overcome our sinful nature and find him. He has already done what was prophesied until he comes a second time.
No, he did not fail. He was to remain loyal to death in order to fulfill the purpose for which he came to earth--to free humans from sin and death and to vindicate his father's sovereignty. It is a fact that many do not recognize the significance of the ransom sacrifice and mock it. His sacrifice did not mean that ALL or even a great number would accept him. He made it clear in scriptures such as Matthew 7:13,14 "Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it."
We need to decide whether we want to take the path that the majority take, the easier path, living life to please ourselves; or to take the path not commonly taken nor preferred as it is the path that may lead us to difficulties, the path of sacrifice, where we live according to God's will...
No, he merely came to remind us of a choice
He wasnt here in a competition. He was here as a Gift to those who would choose to accept it. Since so many did accept it and cont to do so thats hardly a 'failure'. That some humans with free will to choose either way do not choose him/God is a reflection on their foolishness, not on Christ. He did exactly what God sent him here to do, fulfilled his original purpose. One day he will return to fulfill his second purpose. Christianity is the largest religion in the world. Thats hardly failure. If there are idiots who choose freely to deny him thats not on him.
Besides he knows the ultimate victory is his anyhow. He knows hes the coach for the team that will ultimately win the championship. Hard to be a failure when you know youll take the ultimate trophy.
Depends on what you consider success. If such a man existed, the very fact his name is venerated 2000 years later says a lot. However, if one considers the legacy of the faith created in his name, they too often failed him. I think the numbers of those who follow his teachings are proof he (or his promoters) didn't fail.
Time will tell if the "Message" was heeded.
I reject your premise, but accept the conclusion. Jesus did not "come" for whole of humanity, only for the Jews. He was supposed to kick out the Romans, and reinstate Jewish sovereignty over Judea with a righteous and God fearing monarchy. He accomplished none of those, and the Jews were right in rejecting him. After his utter failure that ended in catastrophe galore and the public humiliation he so deserved, some of his followers "adjusted" the goals to fit with his real or imagined deeds aposteriori. That was done mostly by Paul. So yes, Jesus was probably the greatest failure in human history!
No he did not fail. Through out the gospels he explained why he came. It was to establish a new covenant between the Jews and God. He completed that goal by fulfilling all the prophecies made about him in the old testament. After he died and rose again the new covenant was established.
Oh he failed. Not one person has lived past their time in the eternal life he promised. He has not returned after more than 2000 years, not everyone is given the chance at salvation, his covenant is splintered in so many pieces no one can be rightly sure just who is right and a number of people don't believe he ever existed. Wars are fought in his name, slaughter done by it as well, he is made a television mockery frequently even after his alleged death and his words fall on deaf ears for the majority have no idea what is truly written in the bible and for what purpose. The one thing he succeeded in is bringing the sword as he promised in place of peace because the conflict is never ending surrounding his name. It's too bad his only great success was an epic fail in reality. Like watching hitler climb to power to meet his goals- no one now cares for his accomplishment and resents him for it.
Jesus made the way of salvation possible for "whosoever believes". There was nothing we could do to save ourselves, so God did it for us.
Some people make the mistake of thinking that, since Jesus died for the sins of the world, everyone will go to heaven one day. This is incorrect. The substitutionary death of Christ must be personally applied to each heart. Before we can become 'the
righteousness of God in Him,' we must exchange our old sin nature for His holy one. God offers the Substitute, but we must receive that Substitute personally by accepting Christ in faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).
He actually has a worse success rate than you mentioned. I'm talking a big fat ZERO percent. Death is the end, love.
No. At some point YOU have to believe. It's not his fault.
Do you have To listen to the teacher when they teach you a lesson? Same applies to jesus he taught but not all listened
Jesus Came To O*F*F*E*R All Men
To Be Saved. Obviously, His Offer
Has Not Been Believed a n d
Received By All Men.
It Would Be Unfair
To Hold Him
Account-
able 4
That.
Maybe if that's how u wish to think about it.
yes humanity has doomed itself
"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life...He that exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; he that disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him." John 3:16,36. Both these scriptures highlight the need for an exercising of faith in order to benefit from the sacrifice of Christ Jesus. As seen in the garden of Eden God gifted our parents with free moral agency. They could choose for themselves which path to take. However, like a person who chooses to be and alcoholic, or smoke there are inevitable consequences to their actions. Similarly with Christs sacrifice. God does not take away our right to reject the benefits from Jesus death. "What is looked for in stewards is for a man to be found faithful." (1 Cor. 4:2) Quality does not matter to Him, quality does.
Jesus knew what he was doing. There was nothing that he couldn't do. He is the son of God. The only perfect one there is. God blessed Jesus to do all of the things that God could do. Its just he was born in the flesh and God sent him on a journey.
Funny to even suggest that. Unless one never read the Gospels...or never studied history....or never read Revelation...or never met a single genuine disciple of Jesus...or never read Jesus' own words about His life and mission. He did say to God the Father, "I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do."
Jesus is the one who also said "God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life...whoever believes is not condemned...whoever does not believe stands condemned already."
So salvation has some connection to 'whosoever.' If I were the only one to believe/trust in Him, God would still proclaim the Son a success. God the Father, in fact, said He was "well pleased" with God the Son, before He died and rose again. Something to consider.
Christ delivered a message regarding our responsibilities on earth, and any failure therein is solely ours, not his.
That's like saying my lifelong goal was to bring food to all the homeless people in my town. I would have succeeded in what I was trying to accomplish, but the homeless people could just throw the food in the garbage. Crazy right? That's what many people do with Jesus' salvation. So He succeeded in saving everyone, but everyone needs to succeed in accepting His salvation.
The Bible say a lot about Jesus. All of the laws and prophecies ever written were fulfilled through him and by him, so the Bible says. However the most interesting thing I've read about Jesus is found in the book of Colossians 1:16-20. There it tells us not only who and where he was before coming to the earth, but why and how he did what he did when he was on the earth, and the reason it was so important to do what he did. No one person has all the answers. But the Bible can answer all of our questions, that is if we really want an answer truthfully. Here is a website you and many others might find very informative if you really want to get truthful answers. www.jw.org John 8:31,32
Jesus fulfilled the prophecy, it was done he fulfilled what was meant to be. The DEVIL didn't want him to do that that's why Jesus suffered a lot he was here on this world as a Man to feel everything we would have felt. HE Sacrificed himself and DIED in our place. he was immortal came down to earth, died for us and didn't diserve it , he is pure he didn't have to it was his choice to take our place or it would be us on the cross. if it wasn't for jesus sacrifice we wouldn't even have a chance to make it to heaven. Now were able to be forgiven our sins by GOD, in jesus name.
