I have a few questions about sardines [MORE BELOW]

1) Is is alright to just plop down a few sardines for my cats? Will they get hurt by the bones in the fish?

2) Are there any canned sardines without bones? I really hate the crunch of those nasty hair-like bones when I'm enjoying my fish.

If a human can eat sardines with the bones in Im sure your cat will be fine. get the ones in water. Those are some spoiled cats.

Except human teeth are able to chew them up better and have larger throats to swallow. Cats molars don't have the same chewing surfaces ours do and their throats are skinnier.

Well they aren't really spoiled. The only reason I asked is because I gave my dog some treats and thought it was unfair to not give my cats some. I felt like eating sardines anyway so I gave my cats a little bit.

If your cats aren't "gulpers" when it comes to food, the bones will probably not be a problem. Watch your cats eat to make sure they eat slowly enough to not eat the bones. And get ready for some really stinky cat breath.
