First of all, I'm very sorry for your loss. Secondly, to help soothe your throat, I'd suggest throat lozenges, tea with honey, and drinking plenty of water. I also find that sleeping with a humidifier in my room helps soothe my throat. I hope this helps!
Try to drink a fair amount of water and consume around 2 cough drops in about 3 hours. If not satisfied try calm music that doent provide you with the memory of the lost animal, may it Rest In Peace Anyone have a question?

I have six kids and when one of them is really upset, I get a dry blanket and warm it in the dryer for ten minutes and wrap them up in it. Then I give them a nice cup of chamomile tea with honey and this usually helps calm them down (and can help with a sore throat too). Then I distract them with a movie or a book or something. You can try some of these things, or do anything you know will give you comfort.
I am so sorry you lost an pet, this can be very traumatic and painful. It can help to make a photo album of your lost one and look at it whenever you miss them. You will you feel better soon, just hang in there. Take care.
